    Quality Assurance Engineer / Business Analyst

    Summary

    Our Philadelphia-based Fortune 100 client seeks an onsite experienced quality assurance/business analyst responsible for collaborating with solution designers, project managers and software developers in the creation, execution and automation of test cases and test scripts. This role will provide key support for documenting, tracking and determining priority of reported bugs and usability issues. This resource will also be responsible for collaborating with technical leaders to help establish testing best practices. Testing methodologies include: functional, black box, unit, regression, integration, exploratory, performance, stress and load. Candidate for this job must have a mix of past QA experience and technical skills. Must be able to communicate to all levels of the organization, and be able to keep all projects on task and on schedule.

    Tasks

    • Work closely with the QA and development teams to write automated tests for all department applications.
    • Partner with developers to create test plans from functional specifications.
    • Perform load and stress testing.
    • Contribute tools to the QA team's test suites and testing infrastructure to maximize code coverage.
    • Work closely with developers to extend developer unit tests and share test code.
    • Represent QA in design, functional requirements, and code reviews.
    • Take ownership for the quality of the product that is shipped.

    Requirements

    • Ideal candidate will have 3+ years of QA/software testing experience and a background in programming and/or business analysis.
    • Previous experience in an Agile environment working inside and outside of the Sprint.
    • Experience moving a testing effort from outside the Sprint to integrating within the Sprint.
    • Experience taking a previously established sequential testing effort and integrating it within the Sprint iteration.
    • Expertise with defect tracking systems and test planning tools.
    • Familiarity with web-based application GUIs and services.
    • Experience identifying test cases, writing test scripts, executing/automating test plans.
    • 1+ years experience as a test engineer in a productivity-driven environment.
    • 1+ years experience with a structured Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodology.
    • 1+ years experience delivering preparing/executing/delivering test plans.
    • Demonstrated IT knowledge regarding application/systems development, with knowledge of IIS, Windows Server, SQL experience.
    • Understanding of principle Software Testing processes and procedures for structured test plan development execution.
    • Performance and Automated Testing knowledge.
    • Analyze performance test results, identify performance bottlenecks and suggest recommendations for remediation.
    • Prior development experience or knowledge in a mix of the following technologies a plus: Active Server Pages (ASP, ASP.NET 1.0, 1.1, 2.0), Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), Javascript, Extended Markup.
    • Language (XML), Visual Basic 6.0/.NET, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), C#, Structured Query Language (SQL), Microsoft SQL Server (2000, 2005) Microsoft Access 97/2000, Microsoft Visual Studio (2003 & 2005), Microsoft Sharepoint (WSS, MOSS 2007), AJAX.
    • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills, with both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Excellent analytical, communication, documentation, and problem solving skills required.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Education

    Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience.

    Salary

    $30-$40 per hour, based on experience.
